Course Description

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence

A business can grow its revenue while losing its grip on profit.

220 counted tools and working components connect the decisions behind the numbers, across 16 downloadable resources.

Sales brings one forecast, finance another margin and operations a new constraint. Hiring requests arrive before the budget is reconciled. The next headquarters review still needs a clear result, an owner and a decision.

A connected management pack changes that conversation. The original budget remains visible, closed actuals stay separate from future assumptions, and each proposed action has evidence, authority and a next review. Growth, profitability, cash and resource commitments can be discussed in one consistent business scope.

Mike brings the perspective of founding and running an education business, together with 20 years as an HR director working alongside CEOs and business-unit leaders at Wargaming, Preply, iDeals, StarLightMedia and Alfa-Bank. His experience covers leadership teams, organization design, executive hiring and workforce budgets. Financial methods are presented from checked sources; no corporate General Manager appointment or ownership of another company's P&L is claimed.

What the tool count includes

The 220+ headline is a count of 8 complete HTML files, 86 working parts inside them and 126 practical slide tools. The presentation versions and HTML versions share the course case; these are not 220 separate downloads. Repeated appearances of the same slide tool, screenshots, export buttons and source pages add nothing to the count. Methods used within a counted tool add no separate theory-only total.

  • 8 complete HTML working files: GM Role and 90-Day Charter, Unit P&L Decision Model, Annual Plan and Budget, CEO and Board Reporting Pack.
  • 86 editable or calculated working parts inside the files: Decision rights, Workforce plan, Stop list, Metric dictionary, Answer rehearsal.
  • 126 practical tools in the presentation slides: Discount authority tree, Constant-mix breakeven calculator, Hiring start-date budget, Risk register, Bad-news message.

By working format, across those same 220 positions

  • 8 complete working files: GM Role and 90-Day Charter, Unit P&L Decision Model, Annual Plan and Budget, Commercial Review.
  • 130 templates and records: Decision rights, Handover inventory, Stop list, Leadership role card, CEO monthly page.
  • 12 checklists and rating guides: Acceptance checklist, Evidence-rating rubric, Baseline acceptance checklist, Answer scope checklist, Pack consistency checklist.
  • 60 calculators and numerical models: CAC calculation, Constant-mix breakeven calculator, Hiring start-date budget, Weighted forecast calculator, Margin gap calculator.
  • 6 decision procedures: Discount authority tree, CAPEX approval gate, Hiring /replacement authority route, First72h crisis plan.
  • 4 question banks and rehearsal: Evidence question bank, Question bank, Answer rehearsal, Six-situation question bank.

Eight connected stages

  • Role and first 90 days, 25 tools: the GM Role and 90-Day Charter connects mandate, inherited evidence and decision rights.
  • P&L ownership, 29 tools: the Unit P&L Decision Model connects profit lines, customer economics, breakeven and a profit bridge.
  • Annual planning, 31 tools: the Annual Plan and Budget links driver assumptions, payroll, capital expenditure and scenario responses.
  • Business-unit strategy, 29 tools: Business Unit Strategy and Priorities ties choices, initiative scores and a stop list to funded resources.
  • Commercial review, 28 tools: Commercial Review keeps forecast snapshots, customer exposure and discount evidence together.
  • Leadership team, 25 tools: Leadership Team Plan connects organization design, people evidence, hiring and succession cover.
  • Operating rhythm, 26 tools: Operating Rhythm and Risk Pack brings KPIs, business review, risk ownership and crisis decisions into one record.
  • CEO, HQ and board reporting, 27 tools: CEO and Board Reporting Pack aligns the monthly page, quarterly review, resource request and answer rehearsal.

First comes the General Manager mandate; then the P&L Owner's model and budget. Strategy and commercial decisions follow, before the leadership team and operating rhythm. The final Managing Director conversation brings the Business Unit Head or Country Manager's result to the CEO, headquarters and board.

One fictional example, Orvexalith Westmere, runs through all eight lessons. Its companies, people and business figures are fictional example numbers, not actual participants or market benchmarks. The HTML files open in a desktop browser, save locally, accept working records and export text or a printable PDF. Their linked financial calculations use the supplied case and supported sensitivity inputs; an arbitrary new business model requires reconciled inputs with finance. Completeness checks do not verify evidence or grant approval.

Definitions state their period, scope and cost bases. Gross profit uses the selected delivery cost of goods sold; contribution deducts all variable delivery and selling costs. Customer acquisition cost uses matching eligible spending and new customers; churn uses the opening cohort. The lifetime-value estimate assumes constant annual contribution and churn, with no expansion or discounting. EBITDA is a non-GAAP management measure, is not defined by IFRS 18, and differs from operating profit and cash. Fix the definition with your finance team. Thresholds and weights are identified as course rules or course design.

System demonstrations are mockups rebuilt from public documentation: prepared scenario comparison in Pigment, an equipment forecast in HubSpot Sales Hub, and plan-versus-actual review in Microsoft Power BI. The real interface and workflow may differ. No live vendor connection or subscription is required. There is no affiliation with these vendors, Watkins, McKinsey, BCG, ISO, SEC or the IFRS Foundation.

The scope is one business or business unit reporting to the CEO, HQ or board. Corporate portfolios, strategic offices, capital raising, M&A, process engineering, supply-chain design, continuity-program design, bookkeeping, tax compliance, valuation, sales techniques, CRM configuration, general coaching and delegation are outside it. Chief of Staff coordination and general financial literacy are not separate course tracks. There is no certification preparation or AI practice. This is not investment, legal or tax advice; check with your finance, legal and tax advisers, and check your local employment law before people decisions.
